House party stabbing leads to man’s death

Accused lied to police.

A 20-year-old Woodlands resident was arrested for stabbing a man in the back in the early hours of Sunday morning, 2 March.

The victim succumbed to his wounds while in hospital the following day. Montclair SAP arrested the 20-year-old who had originally lied to police in his original statement. He had told police his friend had walked to a shop and when he returned, he was bloody with multiple stab wounds.

It is alleged the deceased attended a house party at the man’s house which was organised by his brother. They were engaged in a quarrel in the early hours of Sunday morning, which resulted in him stabbing the deceased multiple times in the back.

He will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon.
