Man nabbed for breaking into car

Man appears in court for theft out of motor vehicle.

Two Montclair SAP officers arrested a man for theft out of motor vehicle on Friday, 28 March.

Police officers responded to a call at about 5.30am about a theft in progress in a complex in Alamein Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers combed the area. They spotted a man fitting the description given by the complainant, jumping over a wall. The man fled when he saw police. A chase ensued and the man was captured.

Police officers found in his possession a screwdriver and the face of a radio. The man was positively identified by the complainant as the person they had seen carrying out the crime. He detained and charged with theft out of motor vehicle. He appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 31 March.
