Conference focus shifts from only youth

Sweet Waters Church in Winklespruit will host its second Embrace Grace Conference from 19 to 23 March.

Embrace Grace originally started as a conference aimed at the youth in the Toti area. Last year’s conference saw about 350 youth from Toti and surrounding areas attend.

Youth pastor Adam Cruickshank along with Sweet Waters Church leadership wanted to move the conference from reaching just the youth to a conference for people of all ages. “I hope that with this conference people will rediscover their love for Jesus and to realise that no matter what situation they may be facing in their life that Jesus has a plan.I hope this conference will see Christians awaken their faith,” said Adam.

Keynote speaker for the conference is comedian Aaron Mcllroy who acted in Spud 2. Other speakers during the conference include Pastor James Paterson from Highway Christian Community, Pastor Nishan Roopal from Faith Revival Church in Phoenix and Ashley Augustine from Liberty Church in Johannesburg. “If Trevor Noah were a preacher, I think he would sound a lot like Pastor Ashley,” said Adam.

The conference runs from Wednesday, 19 March to Sunday 23 March.

Anybody can attend the Embrace Grace conference, which is free for all to attend. Doors open at 6.30pm and there will be light meals as well as coffee and tea.

On Saturday, 22 March, there is a youth session from 2pm to 4.30pm. The entrance is R20 per person which includes lunch. This will be hosted by Pastor Ashley Augustine. On Sunday 23 March, the conference will be hosted at 8.30am and 5.30pm.
