Seniors club resumes with happy happenings

Our subs will remain at R30 per annum and we request members to contribute R5 each month for tea and refreshments.

MONTCLAIR Senior Citizens Club met for the first time in 2014 on a sweltering morning.

Rev Ansie Liebenberg opened with devotions, reminding members to build houses on the rock.

Naomi welcomed everyone and encouraged members to invite friends to join the club. She gave feedback on the AGM and tabled the financial statement for inspection.

The club was sad to report that long-time member, Joy Ford had died and that Daleen Boshoff had a badly broken hip and moved to a frail care facility in Ermelo.

Naomi introduced a new segment she called ‘Something happy happened to me this month’. Several people spontaneously shared happy events. After this month’s birthday had been read out, Colin had a joke and members drew for eight competition raffle prizes.

Members enjoyed a welcome break for refreshments and thereafter played bingo for bars of chocolate.

The club meets on the second Thursday of every month at 9am for 9.30am at the Montclair Methodist Church hall. Anyone over 50 years is welcome to join the club.
