Valentine theme warms Woodlands WI’s hearts

WOODLANDS Women’s Institute president, Maureen Lavis opened the meeting on Friday, 7 February with the saying of the Mary Stewart Collect and welcomed all present including visitors.

All competitions had a Valentine theme.

Competition results:

Ad ed: First May Scott, second Dawn Cowan, third Sandra Naidoo. Craft: First May Scott, second Linda Gibbs, third Dawn Cowan. Handicraft: First May Scott, second Sandra Naidoo, third Koulla Tsouris.

Floral: First Dawn Cowan Scott, second May Scott, third Sandra Naidoo. Best specimen: First Linda Gibbs, second Sandra Naidoo, third Phyllis Parsonage.

Agri-Horti: May Scott. Best rose: First Sandra Naidoo, second Phyllis Parsonage. Best orchid: First Linda Gibbs, second Phyllis Parsonage.

Merit: First May Scott, second Linda Gibbs, third Valerie Wagner. Home products: First Martie Caldwell, second Sandra Naidoo.

The next Woodlands WI meeting, which is the AGM, will be on Friday, 14 March.
