Subsistence anglers to meet

SOUTH Durban fishermen are called to a KZN Subsistence Fishermen Forum public meeting on Sunday, 12 January to discuss matters affecting them.

The main topics for discussion include the opening of the Durban beachfront piers, Grunter Gulley, Roundbush, North Pier and the area around the BAT Centre; continued harassment from Transnet security and the police, despite permits being produced and the restriction which KZN Ezimvelo Wildlife intends to apply to bait and fishing licenses and bag limits.

Transnet permit application forms will be issued at the meeting and must be filled in and returned before departure. No permit applications will be allowed to be taken out of the meeting and certified copies of IDs are required.

The meeting takes place at 2pm at the Arena Park Mosque in Chatsworth. For information call Desmond D’Sa on 083-982-6939; Essop Mohamed on 083-786-4175 or K Sewsunker on 078-733-0641.
