Bring festive fun to indigent children

The South Durban Basin (SDB) Area Based Management (ABM) team calls for partners to help them bring festive cheer to 400 impoverished children.

“Children are the future and it is the responsibility of adults to protect them and ensure they get the best footing in life. Unfortunately this is not the case in many nations around the world, including our own. Poverty, abuse, neglect, lack of access to education, child labour and human trafficking are some of the horrific situations that we subject our children to,” said SDB ABM manager, Eurakha Singh.

With this in mind, the team will host a holiday fun day for indigent children between the ages of seven and 12, who would normally not receive any Christmas gifts. The carnival themed day will also include an educational programme focussing on child safety and promotion of reading and environmental protection.

Anyone interested in hosting a carnival table, with items such as popcorn, candyfloss, a pamper or art zone or games or providing items for goodie bags for each child should call Anitha Govender or Sheldon Frankish on 031-451-9800.
