Doctor departs for Canada

WELL-KNOWN and loved doctor, Dr Louis Minders will hang up his stethoscope for the last time at the Bluff Medicross on Saturday, 28 December.

The 55-year-old, who has worked at the centre since 22 December 1984, has taken the long-awaited opportunity to travel overseas and take up at a practice in Canada. “My children are going over and I am glad I will be able to be close to them as I start a new adventure,” said Dr Minders.

He thanked all his patients and the staff for loyal support over the last 29 years. “I will remember you all with fondness and I will miss the amazing people who crossed my path. The Bluff felt like home from day one and I have been privileged to watch generations of families grow before my eyes.

Not only am I going to miss the sea and watching the sun rise every morning from my home, but also the togetherness of the community and their years of support. I hope I leave something behind and that they feel I have done something for them in my years working and living here.”

Dr Conrad Manning will take over from Dr Minders on Monday, 30 December.
