Frail seniors produce wish list

Thornhill House residents are calling on the public to assist them with items on their wishlist.

They are in urgent need of: Nail clippers, haircutting machine, scissors to cut hair, combs

brushes, snuff, nail brushes, bath sponges, tablecloths or overlays and wool.

A resident in Maclure Close who bakes for the residents requires ingredients to continue her efforts. These include: Cake flour, eggs, icing sugar, sugar, cinnamon, sprinkles and other cupcakes decorations, long life milk, desserts, fruit, custard and jelly.

With the newly re-opened second floor, in order to ensure resident’s comfortable stay, they need, comforters for 25 beds, curtains, flat sheets and pillow slips.

Many of the residents need clothes including pyjamas, gowns, underwear, shoes and closed slippers, beanies, bed socks, small lap blankets and towels.

All the residents are frail and semi-frail and spend most of their time sitting on hard chairs and require comfortable chairs for them to sit in and with the necessary support to keep them safely in an upright position. Colourful plants for the garden, indoor plants or even seedlings for the vegetable patch are welcomed. Snacks like, chips, juices, popcorn, sweets and chocolates would also be appreciated.
