YWP WI holds group fun meeting

WI needs you Jean.

YELLOWWOOD Park Women’s Institute president Vanessa Wilesmith welcomed all members and visitors to the November meeting.

After the Mary Stewart Collect, the finance report and minutes of the previous meeting were read.

Thoughts were with some members who have not been well, especially Carole Michell.

The next big occasion is the group fun meeting which will be held on Monday, 25 November. The WI looks forward to seeing all members from institutes in the area. All members are urged to take a plate of snacks to help feed the many guests and the WI would love to have an enormous sales table, so members should dig out all those items that they have not used for ages – somebody always wants something that you do not want.

The Outspan outing was a great success. Each month YWP WI seems to have more women at the table waiting for them, although Jean Ball was sorely missed. WI needs you Jean.

Thanks to the members who continually do Meals on Wheels and of course the Botanic Gardens volunteers each month. After tea members spent the rest of the evening packing goodie bags with all sorts of interesting items for the residents of Thornhill House.

The Christmas party will be held on Sunday, 8 December at the home of Wendy Henderson from 12.30pm.

Do remember to take a chair, your meat and of course whatever you drink. The cost is R25 each, as the institute provides salads and pudding. Take along a friend or partner.

Birthday greetings to all members celebrating this month. Those who require a name badge must give their correct name to Wendy Henderson
