Stainbank WI fleamarket a great success

It really was good to see so many stands in the hall from different institutes.

STAINBANK Women’s Institute (WI) president Arlene Greenfield welcomed all members and many visitors to the meeting.

It really was good to see so many stands in the hall from different institutes.

There were some apologies but it was good to see Elizabeth Keith. Thank you to Verna and Joy McDonald for the beanies and booties.

Do not forget to take your shoebox full of goodies for needy children to the next meeting. Connie Stringer gave the finance report and Barbara read out the previous minutes.

Donna Chelin as usual had her usual gossip and jokes. Note that subs will be increased to R125 next year, which really is not a lot for all the entertainment and speakers the WI has. There are still WI calendars for sale at R20 each. Unfortunately there was no electricity at the meeting but tea hostess Sue Dennison came to the rescue with cold drinks, which were most acceptable on such a hot day.

Do not forget the group fun meeting to be held by YWP WI on Monday, 25 November. Members are asked to make every effort to attend.

Birthday greetings were extended to all members celebrating this month and happy anniversary to members as well.

Stainbank WI will hold its annual Christmas party on Sunday, 3 December with lots of entertainment by the marvelous choir. Remember to take your large plate of snacks to share with members. The WI looks forward to seeing everyone as it will not meet again until February 2014.
