Joint operation brings law to crime hotspots

BRIGHTON Beach SAP conducted a joint operation forces with local security companies on Friday, 6 September in an effort to make the Bluff and Clairwood safer for residents and road users.

The multidisciplinary operations conducted by Brighton Beach SAP support services; detective services and Tactical Security and Park Patrol Security involved two phases.

The first phase was slow patrols of known crime hotspots on the Bluff to tackle the problems of theft out, or from and of motor vehicles and housebreakings. Suspicious people were searched for housebreaking or car breaking implements.

The second phase was a roadblock in Clairwood to search for wanted people; deal with road traffic or drinking and driving offences and search suspicious vehicles or people for dangerous weapons and banned substances.

During these operations 44 people were searched and 181 vehicles were stopped, with six people charged for contravening the Road Traffic Act.

Brighton Beach SAP management thanks the support services and detective branch members for their active role and Tactical Security and Park Patrol Security for their partnership.
