Yellowwood Park family awoken by fleeing burglars

A YELLOWWOOD Park family were startled as they were awoke to the sound of their car engine in the early hours of Wednesday, 4 September.

Two men, one who was seen opening their front gate and another in the driver’s seat of their green Peugot, then fled the house.
The men had already entered the house, took with them a laptop, a television set and the house keys, before making off with the family car. The car was recovered on Thursday morning in Umlazi’s G-section.
“The whole incident was terrible. I saw them taking the car and the guy who was driving didn’t seem to know what he was doing. He was struggling to drive the car. I was relieved when the car was recovered but I am tortured, I can’t imagine driving it again. It would have been better if we were not home. My seven-year-old daughter is undergoing counselling because of the the traumatic experience,” said Norma Ngcobo.
Ngcobo thanks the police for their hard work in recovering the vehicle especially since it was not fitted with a tracking system.
