Mass fight erupts outside school

MORE than one hundred pupils at Grosvenor Boys High School were involved in a melee outside the school yesterday and a pupil was repeatedly hit in the head with a gun as parents ran frantically in search of their children.

A fight, which allegedly broke out between pupils at the school in the morning, was apparently quickly brought under control by police. This was only a temporary truce however, as at the end of the school day, fighting continued outside the Moss Road school, when one person is believed to have produced a gun. It does not seem any shots were fired, but it is believed he attacked a pupil by slamming the gun into his head.

As more pupils got involved in the brawl, it spilled out into the car park and streets, with parents being blockaded in. “I was terrified. I didn’t know where my son was and I couldn’t get through the mass of boys,” said a parent, who asked to remain anonymous.

It is not known what caused the fight, but the SUN has received a number of phone calls from concerned parents who claim this is not an unusual occurrence at the school and fights are often gang-related.

The SUN has contacted Brighton Beach SAP and Grosvenor Boys for comment. The school has yet to respond. Police have confirmed they were aware of the incident, which involved a toy gun, and will respond with further details shortly.
