Yachties’ NSRI fundraiser culminates in wine tasting evening

Sailing community are joining forces again to raise money at the NSRI Barrel Finale fundraiser

THE sailing community are joining forces again to raise money at the NSRI Barrel Finale fundraiser on Friday, 16 August at Royal Natal Yacht Club at 7pm in the RNYC Trafalgar Room.

To mark the occasion, the yachting fraternity is hosting a wine tasting evening featuring eight moderately priced, fabulous quality wines. If you fancy yourself a wine connoisseur and would enjoy an evening out in the magnificent setting of the yacht club nestled in the Durban Marina, go along and support a worthy cause.

A cheque from the previous fundraising initiatives, namely the NSRI Barrel Race Day and the NSRI calendar that was produced specially for the sailors, will be handed over to the NSRI by the Commodores of the Durban yacht clubs. Accepting the cheque will be station commander Clifford Ireland from Rescue 5.

Live entertainment for the evening will be provided by a sextet from the Durban City Orchestra and the wine tasting will be hosted by a wine expert who will open the audience’s minds and palettes to the exquisite flavours of a few classic South African wines.

Booking is essential, call Gayle on 031-301-5425.
The cost is R100 and the dress code is Durban smart-casual.
Hot snacks will be on offer.
