Wentworth SAPS shares safety message with Merewent Cheshire Home residents

Wendy Augustine and staff from the victim friendly centre spoke about health.

A SAFETY talk was given at the Merewent Cheshire Home on Friday, 22 June.
The talk hosted by Wentworth SAPS crime prevention, the victim friendly centre and communication department was met with great interest from the tenants of the home.
The station’s social crime prevention unit’s Constable Graham Mei presented the talk on safety issues and the function of the police in the community.

Warrant Officer Lesly Van Niekerk also gave a talk and sang along with the residents of the home. Pastor John Bailey from International Assembly of God shared words of encouragement and hope with the crowd before praying for them. Wendy Augustine and staff from the victim friendly centre spoke about health.
After the many informative talks, the Cheshire Home residents were treated to food and refreshments. “The purpose of the visit was to show the police are capable of taking care of the disabled in our society and we will always love and safeguard them at all times,” said Wentworth SAPS spokesman, Capt Mbuso Gumede.
