Montclair motorist drops 2,400 heroin capsules

The parcel, on inspection was found to contain 2,400 capsules

A DRIVER was caught with 2,400 suspected heroin capsules when he tried to throw the evidence out of his car window on Monday, 26 February.

Montclair SAPS officers, Constables Wesley Moonsamy and Mahalingum Pillay were patrolling when they were alerted about a vehicle driving in Montclair without number plates. The officers followed the car, which stopped at a Mobeni petrol station. The driver, who noticed he was being followed, dropped a parcel out of his vehicle.

“The officers retrieved the parcel and on inspecting it, found it contained 2,400 capsules. The man has been detained and charged for possession of heroin,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Capt Dereck Vijiam.
He appeared in Wentworth court on Tuesday, 27 February.
