On Sunday, 18 February Ramblers will visit Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve in Howick. Email hike leader Keith Ashton at keimarg@iuncapped.co.za or call Stella Wells on 078-319-8979 or email stellawells4@gmail.com. This 12km to 15km hike is graded two to three. This hike, which is by appointment only, is a lovely local day hike in a beautiful area with great views and a chance to see plenty of game and birdlife. There are several trail variations. As it can be hot this time of year, hikers will keep to high ground. This is a combined hike with other clubs.

Email the leader to book a place on this hike by Wednesday, 14 February. Immediately thereafter, contact Stella to co-ordinate transport from Durban, if required. The reserve entrance fee is R30.
