Trio of Wanderers BC teams progress as PN fours begins

THIS Sunday saw the start of the men and women’s Port Natal Bowls fours competition.

While only two men and one women’s sides entered from Wanderers, they did the club proud.

Steve van Rooyen, Richard Hendicott, Graham Funnell and Anthony Carr won their section; Robin Grobler, Jimmy Neil, Jeff Bolt and Mike Flack peeled with section winners from Lahee Park led by Ian Beswick; and the women’s team of Joan Bruce, Joanne Jordaan, Felicity Finestone and Chantal Hearnshaw also peeled with eventual section winners from Stella Park led by Glenda Matthews. Well done to them all.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack Johnny McGregor, beef Jeff Bolt, pork roast bowls, rump Thomas Simpkins, chicken pack Chris Fourie, chicken Chris Fourie.

The R1,600 snowball was a carry-over as Mr A Reynecke was not in attendance.

Friday’s lotto of R1,100 was also a carry-over, and the joker draw was another carry-over as Pat Richard Ant and Terrance could again not locate the joker. The pool is now in the region of R19,000.

The club’s thoughts and prayers are extended to those members on the recovery list, get well soon fellow Wanderers.
