Wednesday word: Atychiphobia

Learn to beat Atychiphobia to the curb.

Atychiphobia, pronounced   a-‘tik-i-“fo-bE-a  is the fear of failure or not being good enough.

Individuals coping with Atychiphobia mainly fear failure because they lack confidence in their abilities.

This phobia seems to be common as we are constantly under the watchful eye of society. We strive to always succeed, to always look the part and to fit perfect mold set out for us.

But there is nothing wrong with failing and as American invetor Thomas Edison says, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’t work.”

Don’t be afraid to take a risk, or go for that opportunity, even if you failed you can say at least you tried.

Failure is not the end of the road but a chance for you to get up and try again. And if you feel like you suffer from Atychiphobia, remember there is someone in this world who has  Aerophobia – the fear of swallowing air!
