One-stop number planned for eThekwini

An investigation is being launched into billing errors.

ETHEKWINI Municipality plans to launch an one-stop complaints number, in light of recent billing issues.

“Currently different departments in the city, such as water and electricity, have different numbers for their call centres. We will soon be launching the one number for all the city’s call centres. Also, staff will be retrained to ensure everything is in order,” said mayor, Zandile Gumede.

Also being launched is the mayoral response office that will investigate the problems with incorrect billing.
