Markers needed for WBC singles bowls this Saturday

Bowlers are reminded that the men’s open singles and the womens novice singles will be contested on Saturday at 9am.

WITH most bowlers participating in the Dan Draper competition last week, the Wentworth Bowling Club greens were relatively quiet.

The only time the greens were used was on Friday morning when the regular stalwarts competed in the Bluff Meat Supply men’s bowls. Winners after the morning’s games were Roy Govender, Neil Smith and Henry Welgemoed. In second place were Graham Bransby, Albert van Niekerk and Troy Garland. Sportsmen’s prize went to Gerald C Royle, Ron Parsonage and Frank Sinatra. Marika Jonker won the raffled pork roast and Gwen Tait and Tomcat Cavanagh shared the pool from the 60/40 board.

Bowlers are reminded that the men’s open singles and the women’s novice singles will be contested on Saturday at 9am. Markers are required so any bowlers not participating are asked to volunteer their services.

The Game Changer’s kitchen will be preparing their daily specials and the regular pub meals on offer to members and visitors. Call Marike on 071-594-1225 for details.
