Bluff BC A league bowlers promoted to first division

Results of the mixed competitions played on Sunday saw Dave Rowe, Jorge Santos and Ronel Morel beat Dudley Dorrofield, Noel Morel and Paula Osman.

THE last round of the men’s and women’s league took place on Saturday, where Bluff Bowling Club men’s A side gained promotion to the first division by beating Amanzimtoti 7-0.

The B side had to forgo their game against Umhlali as they were stuck on the freeway due to an accident.

In the women’s league, the A side beat Amanzimtoti 5-0, which kept them in the first division as well. The B side lost to Hillary 3-2. As such, both of the club’s B sides stay in their respective divisions.

Friday night’s attendance draw was not won so there is a carry-over to this week.

The draw for the joker board produced a ticket sold to Deon Els and Greg Dorrofield but they did not find the joker and won R50 for their trouble. Hence, the joker is now worth R1,250.

Results of the mixed competitions played on Sunday saw Dave Rowe, Jorge Santos and Ronel Morel beat Dudley Dorrofield, Noel Morel and Paula Osman, in the other game Eddie Human , Dawn Spack and Sheldon Wicks beat Elize Stapelberg, Brian Osman and Michael Schudel. In the drawn pairs game Chris Pozyn and Deon Els had a walkover against Robert Mhlongo and Hilton Lassak.

On Saturday, 15 July the finals of the women’s nominated pairs will be played between Elize Stapelberg and Chrissie Smith against Janice Rodgers and Dawn Spack. In the point singles Daphne Reinhardt plays Deidre Koekemoer. There are no men’s competitions posted due to the All Natal being played.

On Sunday, 16 July the Dudley/Brian Bluff any pairs takes place with the jackpot standing at over R1,000. Any bowlers wishing to play should contact Dudley Dorrofield.
