This type of roadblock will continue.

MONTCLAIR SAPS arrested 19 people for drunk driving and flouting the rules of the road during roadblocks on South Coast Road and Lamontville’s Gwala Street on 12 and 13 May.

Metro and SAPS work together to get the drunk drivers off the roads.

Carried out under the supervision of Captain Perumal, 10 SAPS members and 15 Metro Police officers worked together through the night and into the early morning.

The officers conduct their searches.

“This type of roadblock will continue, in order to combat reckless and drunk driving,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Capt Dereck Vijiam.
