LOOKING for a way to spoil mom this Mothers’ Day?

Defy offers this easy recipe for youngsters to treat mom this Sunday, 14 May, with a little help from an adult.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method:

  • Beat the eggs and milk together until fluffy.
  • Mix in the flour, salt, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla essence until smooth.
  • Heat a pan on medium and use oil or a non-stick spray to prepare it.
  • Pour the batter into an icing bag, and cut off a small hole at the end.
  • Carefully pipe in the pan one letter at a time, starting with ‘I’, flip over when cooked and repeat the process for the letters.
  • Serve the pancakes to mom in bed on a decorated board.
