TUESDAY, 2 MAY: An arts and crafts morning will be starting from 9.30am to 11.30am to run every Tuesday, hosted by Game Changers Kitchen at Wentworth Bowling Club. Call Susan on 078-277-1826 for more details.

SATURDAY, 6 MAY: Hands of Hope on the Bluff hosts a fundraising dance at the Pigeon Club Hall from 7pm. Dress smart casual. Cost is R70. Bring your own booze and snacks. Call Bernie King on 084-888-8040 or Christina on 072-304-3199.

MONDAY, 8 MAY: Women’s morning from 10am to noon, to be run every Monday by Game Changers Kitchen at the Wentworth Bowling Club. Call Susan on 078-277-1826 for more details.

FRIDAY to SUNDAY, 26 to 28 MAY: Mountain Backpackers Club enjoys guided day hikes at Mhlopeni Nature Reserve near Greytown. At this SA natural heritage site, the weather may plummet to 0 degrees, so wrap up warm. Self-catering camp costs R150 per person and own tent costs R80 per person. Accommodation is available. Guided hikes on Saturday and Sunday will take in the beautiful bushveld, game and prolific birdlife. Pre-booking and payment is essential. SUNDAY, 28 MAY: Fynnland Combined Sports Club hold a flea/craft market on from noon until 5pm. Live music with Paul and company. Bookings for lunch can be done through Yvonne on 083-730-8003. Tables are R100 in cash or products. Call Carol on 031-466-2010 during office hours to book a table.

TUESDAY, 30 MAY: Fynnland Combined Sports Club holds a fundraising evening at Grand Rapids Spur from 6pm to 9pm. Support is urged as the club will be given a percentage of the takings during that time, to help it replace the desperately needed hall roof. TAFTA Bluff meets every Monday from 9am to noon at Bluff Methodist Church hall. Go along and join the over 55s for a fun morning. Call Charmaine on 082-556-0946 or 031-467-4046. Transport to and from the venue is available.
