Put eggs into Generation Changers’ basket to help make memorable Easter

To volunteer or donate, Bibles, burgers or Easter eggs, contact Angelo Maart

THE children of Wentworth are in for a treat on Easter Saturday, 15 April thanks to the wonderful plan of NPO Generation Changers.

Members of Generation Changers have planned a fun day for the children on Hime Street with Easter eggs, jumping castles, balloons and face painting.

But the group wish they could do more and reach out to local businesses and to the community to help them collect more boxes of Easter eggs as well as a sponsor for 300 burgers to feed the children. “All we aim to do on that day is to put a smile on each child’s face. We want them to enjoy their lives as children. We are asking any organisation or community member to assist us on this day with sponsorship and we welcome anyone who wishes to volunteer,” said founder, Euronne Richards.

Generation Changers lives up to its name as they work hard and try their best to change the lives of the young generation. The founder, Euronne and other members have lived through the pains of drug and alcohol abuse. “But through the grace of God and my fellow brothers and sisters in church, we have been saved and reformed.

Through our NPO we want to assist those who are going through the same struggles and help them overcome their addictions and abuse,” added Richards.

Previously they have been involved with feeding schemes working with Gift of the Givers, they have a raffle to raise money for the less fortunate as well as an initiative which sponsors R150 for each of the 74 children living in Welbedacht.

They are looking to open a safe house in the future. “Besides spending the day with the children, we will also be there to help anyone suffering from substance and domestic abuse. We want to reach out to many people as possible. Along with Easter eggs and burgers we also need assistance with Bibles as we would like to hand them out to the adults on the day,” he said.
