Dispute over hostel rooms ends in murder

There were no witnesses to the shooting

A BLOCK chairman at SJ Hostel was shot and killed by an unknown gunman in the early hours of Monday morning, 27 March.

At about 12.15am, Montclair SAPS were called to a murder scene. A 39-year-old man was gunned down, allegedly over disputes about the distribution of rooms.

A spent 9mm cartridge case found at the scene was removed by the LCRC. The suspect is still unknown and there were no witnesses to the shooting,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Capt Dereck Vijiam.
