Taxi driver bolts while gunmnen rob passengers

The robbers fired shots at the fleeing taxi driver but missed him

A TAXI driver and his passengers were held at gunpoint on Wednesday, 15 March on Higginson Highway.

While on his way, three men stopped the taxi under the pretense of wanting to go to town.

As they jumped in, one of the men produced a firearm and demanded the driver to stop the taxi. Realising these armed men were about to rob him and his passengers, the driver made a run for it, leaving his passengers in the taxi with the robbers.
The robbers fired shots at the fleeing taxi driver but missed him. The passengers were robbed of their cellphones and money before the gunmen fled on foot.
