Principal, teacher get physical at a school in Woodlands

Both woman opened cases of common assault at Montclair SAPS

A SCHOOL meeting allegedly ended in a scuffle between an acting principal and a teacher at a Woodlands school on Tuesday, 28 February.

According to the teacher, she was slapped by the acting principal because she and other colleagues were expressing their excitement over the results of the meeting.

“It is alleged the woman slapped the teacher on her right side of the face so hard, she then went to doctor,” said Montclair SAPS communication officer, Cpt Dereck Vijiam.

A different picture is painted by the alleged aggressor, who claimed the teacher was objecting to decisions made by the chairman and became loud and disruptive. According to the report, the woman walked towards her and stood behind a table which separated them. “It was then reported that as the acting principal began to speak, someone in the crowd pushed the table forward, causing her to lose balance,” added Cpt Vijiam.

Once she regained her balance, she looked back at the woman who began shouting for the members of the meeting to remove the acting principal from the school.

Both woman opened cases of common assault at Montclair SAPS.
