Hike Giba Gorge, Eston this weekend

We’ll drive in convoy to a farm not far from Tala Game Reserve for a hike (maybe in reverse) over rolling hills of indigenous bush, cane and grasslands.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club takes a new Saturday route to St Helier/ Giba Gorge on Saturday, 5 November.

Meet and park at 1.45pm at the offices at the end of St Helier Road. The hike will venture through Giba Gorge over a distance of about 10km. The outing is graded two to three, moderate to strenuous.

On Sunday, 6 November hikers keen to explore Eston should call hike leader Margie Forbes on 073-437-6915.

Hikers will drive in convoy to a farm not far from Tala Game Reserve for a hike or maybe in reverse. Vistas will be of rolling hills of indigenous bush, cane and grasslands. Meet at 7.30am at Union Main Centre, 45 Old Main Road, Pinetown in time to leave promptly or at 7.50am at the Camperdown turn-off (exit 57). Petrol sharing costs R50. This hike of about 14km is graded three.
