Stand to win tickets to see ‘Second Language’

SUN readers stand to win one of five double sets of tickets. The entry deadline is midnight on Wednesday, 14 September

ON Fire Comedy presents one of SA’s biggest up-and-coming comedy stars, Schalk Bezuidenhout, with his hilarious one-man show ‘Second Language’ at the Durban Jewish Centre on Friday and Saturday, 16 and 17 September at 8pm.

You may have seen Schalk Bezuidenhout on TV – he’s had his own Comedy Central Special, and more recently starred in ‘White Christmas’ Comedy Special.

He was Trevor Noah’s opening act for no less than five weeks at the Teatro in 2015 and is also a Comics’ Choice Award 2015 recipient. You may even have seen him tearing up the Durban Club Comedy scene recently.

Now, after a completely sold out run in Cape Town, this hilarious Afrikaans boy brings his highly anticipated debut one-man comedy show to Durban.

Coming from a community where your mother’s breast milk would be brannewyn en coke, you’d walk kaalvoet to school, and hide your lunch money when a black man walked past, Schalk explains how he perceives the world through his boerewors spectacles.

Described by comedy reviewer, Helen Herimbi, as “a comedian with unique material and delivery, who stands out in a sea of stand-up comedians”, this show from one of SA’s hottest rising comedy stars is guaranteed to have you in stitches!

The Durban Jewish Club is at 44 KE Masinga Road, North Beach.

Tickets cost R100 at quicket.co.za or R120 at the door. For more details, email info@onfirecomedy.co.za.
