A sad Bushlands WI celebrates 51st birthday
A delicious carrot cake, baked and iced by Lyn Bootes, was enjoyed by all.
THE celebration of Bushlands Women’s Institute’s 51st birthday took the form of a lunch at a local restaurant on the Bluff.
The event was saddened by the death of long serving and beloved member, Lyn Rudolph two weeks ago.
President Nora Brown welcomed the nine members and asked that they observe a minute’s silence in Lyn’s memory.
Unfortunately Marie Brown and Hazell Caldwell are still overseas. Nevertheless members enjoyed the get-together, as they reminisced on previous birthdays and institute events. A delicious carrot cake, baked and iced by Lyn Bootes, was enjoyed by all. It was hoped that the 52nd birthday would see a larger number of members present.
Those going to Congress are wished a fruitful and interesting meeting.
