Two stabbings in one day

A third person was robbed at knifepoint

THURSDAY and Friday, 7 and 8 July saw two people stabbed and a third robbed at knifepoint in the Montclair SAPS policing area.

At about 6.15am on 7 July, a woman was threatened at knifepoint on Blamey Road over the railway bridge. Her attacker took her phone, valued at R4,000.

While walking to her room in Wema Hostel on 8 July at noon a woman was attacked by a man believed to be her ex-boyfriend. He hit her with a bottle, breaking it as he smashed it into her face. She suffered cuts to her face and he stabbed her in the back of the head. He was later arrested by Constable Majola.

At SJ Smith Hostel, Mobeni that same day, a man was also stabbed with a bottle. The man saw a second person who he believed had stolen his shoes. When he confronted the supposed thief, he was attacked. The man allegedly stabbed him in the head while he was held down by a second attacker.
