An investigation by Detective W/O Ncane led him to a 23-year-old man who was arrested and detained for murder. The detective called on witnesses to give their accounts and collected evidence and DNA reports for the murder weapon in preparation for the trial.

“The case was postponed many times in court 10 and the investigative skills and patience shown by the W/O Ncane finally paid off when the accused was sentenced to eight year’s imprisonment. Vincent Donnelly is serving his sentence in Westville Prison for murder,” he added.

W/o Ncane was highly commended by branch commander Lt Colonel Ramdass and the station management for securing this conviction. “This will send a strong message to those people who take law into their own hands and commit crimes, and those who fail to control their anger. The community should report the crime to the police and be eyes and ears of the police, but do not exercise vigilantism. Anyone who commits crime will be dealt with accordingly. We also commend the witnesses who were prepared to stand firm and work with the detective to solve this case,” said Lt Gumede.
