Which suburb did you have in mind?

What a desperate suggestion made, to my mind, without any serious thought whatsoever as to the consequences to such other suburb's inhabitants.

EDITOR – In the letters section of the Sun dated 27 May, written in large, bold letters are the words ‘Take back the Bluff‘.

Bluff CPF chairman Carl Knauff wrote: “Crime exists and is as old as prostitution – somebody is always losing, but let us together move it to another suburb….”

Which suburb did you have in mind Mr Knauff? The one I live in or close by, perhaps Wentworth, Clairwood, Woodlands or Yellowwood Park or to the Old Main Line area which goes from Rossburgh, Sea View, Bellair, Hillary, Malvern, Escombe, Northdene, Sarnia and so on up to Pinetown and beyond. How about Umbilo, Glenwood or the Berea? Any suggestions?

What a desperate suggestion made, to my mind, without any serious thought whatsoever as to the consequences to such other suburb’s inhabitants. Removal to another area, Mr Knauff is not the answer – eradication is.

How can that be done? Might I suggest that as the voice for the Bluff, the first step would be to get the head honchos of the SAPS to a meeting, attended by as many residents as you can get together at an appointed time and place, and have members of the press there to report on proceedings and record that meeting for a report-back to the community you are part of and elected to serve.
