Motorist’s stolen car retrieved the next morning

Residents are urged to always double check if their vehicles are locked

A MONTCLAIR driver thanks Montclair SAPS for their quick response and recovery of his stolen vehicle which was stolen on Thursday night, 26 May.

The victim woke up to find his car, which has been parked in his yard and was properly secured, missing.

He reported the missing vehicle to Montclair SAPS who managed to track it despite it having no tracking device and recovered it the next morning in Umlazi. The unknown suspects are still at large

On the same day, a man who made a trip to a local supermarket in Yellowwood Park realised the moment he got home that he was a victim of theft.

He claims that he left his car locked in the parking lot. However police suspect he may have fallen victim to remote jamming. Cash totaling R3,000 and a laptop were taken out of the car and no signs of forced entry was evident.

Montclair SAPS communications officer, Lt Derek Vijiam warns residents to always double check if their vehicles are locked as remote jamming is a problem at local malls. Be aware of the people around.
