Winning ways for WBC’s Rina Harper

The 60/40 board winner Gloria Rice scooped the R40, while Richard Hendicott grabbed the R20.

CONGRATULATIONS to Rina Harper on being the Woodlands Bowling Club 2016 women’s singles champion.

Rina played Lynn Carlyle in the final, with a winning score of 22-8.

The semi-final of the mixed drawn trips was played between Harold Dix, Andy Cloete and Linda Hewer against Rina Harper, Bill Hewer and Dave Lloyd with Rina and her team winning on a score of 21-8.

Despite windy and cold conditions, the mixed nominated pairs was played on Saturday, 21 May. Rina Harper and Andy Cloete challenged Harold Dix and Gloria Rice. Harold and Gloria were winners with 17-11.

Who would have thought after a windy Saturday that Sunday would be so hot. Many thanks to all the bowlers who came to play in the Sunday shirt and skirts pairs. Many high scores were recorded, but the ultimate winners were Richard Hendicott and Chris Klopper with a score of 4+21. Second overall went to Kim and Lorrine Hawkins with a score of 4+13. Second session winners were Jeff Bolt and Rob Carr with a score of 2+10. The 60/40 board winner Gloria Rice scooped the R40, while Richard Hendicott grabbed the R20.

The roast beef raffle went to Val McCaffrey. Drawn prizes were donated by Rina Harper and went to skips – Phil Pieterse and Tom Cloete and leads Joanne Jordaan and Lynn Carlyle.
