Bikers bring Easter cheer to children

Different parts of Wentworth were visited as well as Marianridge.

ENGINES rumbled through Wentworth on Saturday, 19 March, as different motorcycle clubs and car clubs banded together for an Easter run.

The annual run hosted by Throttle Brothers MC was greeted by hundreds of children who ran through the streets to meet the leather-clad men and women.

Excited and curious children lined up for Easter eggs and a chance to sit on the bikes. IT was a whirl of fascination for the little who looked up to the motorists who displayed their impressive vehicles and much to the children’s delight, gave them an ear splitting show of sound as each bike and car revved and let put thunderous vrooms that drowned out their joyful screams.

For motor club, Run-X-Dbn member, Sadé Steenkamp, getting involved with the Easter run was an awesome experience. “I think the Easter run was a success and we are proud to be part of the project. It is a great way to bring the community together as well as bearing witness to the hundreds of smiles of children, which was what we all were looking forward to. Run-X-Dbn thanks Throttle Brothers for allowing us the opportunity to join and support them and we look forward to doing more community events and runs with them.”

PRO of Throttle Brothers, Fynall Esau thanked all those who donated their time as well as Easter eggs for the run. “It was lovely to see all biking clubs from axross Durban supporting our Easter Run for the 5th year in a row. It shows that bikers really care about their communities and the children,” she said.
