Hikers traverse Glenwood, Pennington

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club will hike to Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve in Glenwood on Saturday, 5 March.

Hikers are to meet at Stella Sports Club, 175 Helen Joseph Road (formerly Davenport Road) at 1.45pm. This outing will entail some street walking to the pretty little Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve, with some steep hills going up to St Augustine’s Hospital and the university. The 6km hike is graded one, moderate and it has two hills.

On Sunday, 6 March, hikers will traverse the Pennington Conservancy.

Hikers are to meet in the road outside Glenwood Village Shopping Centre, 397 Che Guevara Road (formerly Moore Road) at 6.40am or Umdoni Park Golf Club parking at 8am to explore the coastal forest trails of Umdoni Park, including the gorge along the Mkumbane River and a short beach walk.
