WEDNESDAY, 24 FEBRUARY: All young readers are invited to the Read Aloud Day at Grosvenor Library, to share a stage by reading their favourites titles. It starts at 3pm for picture readers aged three to five, and readers aged seven to 10. For more information enquire at the desk.

SATURDAY, 27 FEBRUARY: KZN Quilters Guild quilt show and open day from 9am until noon at Durban Girls High School, on the corner of Lena Arense (Manning) and Penzance roads in Glenwood. Enjoy the quilt show, shops, quilting demonstrations and teas. Visitors pay R40. Call Lyn on 083-463-7729.

FRIDAY, 4 MARCH: Join in the gathering for the 86th year of Women’s World Day of Prayer at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 936 Bluff Road. The service will be followed by sandwiches, cake and refreshments. The service starts at 10am and the public is urged to enjoy wonderful fellowship with other Bluff churches. THURSDAY, 10 MARCH: KZN branch of the SA Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm at the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KZN Howard College campus.
