Children to audition for Winnie the Pooh

They are looking for a Christopher Robin and several of Rabbit’s friends and relations.

KICKSTART plans to present Winnie the Pooh over the July school holidays, and has issued an audition call for children to perform in the production.

The theatre production company will stage a colourful and faithful adaptation of AA Milne’s classic children’s story.

KickstArt hosts auditions on Saturday, 27 February at The Playhouse’s workshops/studios in Ramsay Road, Mayville from 10am sharp.

Children between the ages of 9 and 13 should present a short acting monologue or poem and a song with backing tracks on a CD. They should wear comfortable clothes, and take refreshments.

They are looking for a Christopher Robin and several of Rabbit’s friends and relations. There is no need to make an appointment – just arrive and put your names on a list.

The production rehearses from 7 June and will perform at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre on the UKZN campus from 30 June to 17 July, with performances at 2.30pm on Tuesday to Sunday and 7pm on Friday.
