SATURDAY, 19 DECEMBER: Kloof Gorge day hike upstream to two waterfalls with the Mountain Backpackers Club. Hikers will leave at 8.30am from the picnic site carpark. There is a small entrance fee. Take sun protection, hat, water, snacks and a rain jacket. Moderate fitness is required. Confirm with John beforehand. Call John McGovern on 082-659-5111.
MONDAY, 18 JANUARY: South African Seniors Fitness Association holds fitness for seniors each Monday from 9.30am to 10.30am at Tafta Park, Bellair in Perseverance Road. Go along in the new year and have fun while getting fit. Call Elaine on 031-7012985 or 084-751-7184.
THURSDAY, 21 JANUARY: KwaZulu-Natal branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm. The venue will be the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College campus. The speakers will be a team from Glenwood High School on ‘Durban/Natal sportsmen in World War 1’ and Adrian Nisbett on ‘The Von Blücher brothers and the invasion of Crete’.
