AT Wanderers Bowling Club, the final of the men’s trips was played out on Saturday afternoon.

In what was an one-sided affair, the team of Steve Van Rooyen, Errol Pienaar and Tommy Simpkins proved too strong for Kim Hawkins, Mike Freeman and Derek Stevens and they emerged winners at 22-8 to take the title.

Congratulations must go to Tommy Simpkins, who, from all accounts played a magnificent game and was man of the match for the winning side.

One match in the women’s senior singles started on Saturday morning but they only completed a few ends before the rain came down, putting paid to the completion of the game.

This coming Wednesday, 9 December is the roadrunner’s pairs in mufti. All and sundry are invited to attend.

Sunday, 13 December will see the staging of the breakfast trips.
