SATURDAY, 28 NOVEMBER: Bluff Methodist Church on the corner of Wesley and Pearce roads (behind Mediclinic) hosts a jumble sale and fete from 8am to 10.30am. Food and bargains galore. For any enquiries, call Dawn White on 031-466-3906.
SUNDAY, 29 NOVEMBER: Flame Lily Foundation (incorporating the Rhodesia Association of South Africa) holds its 32nd annual Rhodie golf day at Amanzimtoti Country Club followed by a social braai with music by Graham Boyle and Spider Murch. Proceeds of the golf day go towards supporting the Rhodesian pensioners. The braai will start at about 1pm, straight after the golf. A certain number of braai packs will be on sale and sadza, gravy and salads will be available for a small donation. There are still a few spaces open for fourballs. MONDAY, 30 NOVEMBER: Members and fellow WI members are reminded of the fun evening to be hosted by Yellowwood Park WI at the bowling club at the usual time. YWP WI hopes to see many friends and members at this fun evening. There will also be a large sales table available.
WEDNESDAY, 2 DECEMBER: Birdlife Port Natal outing at 7.30am to Stainbank Nature Reserve, with its open grassland,woodland and riverine vegetation. Take along a picnic basket. Call Sandi on 031-701-4839.
WEDNESDAY, 2 DECEMBER: Mountain Backpackers Club hosts a beach walk from Umdloti to Umhlanga over a distance of about 12,5km on sand. Meet at 8am at Umdloti beach carpark to walk to Umhlanga and back, with lunch at the Bush Tavern afterwards. Book in advance. The walk will be cancelled if it rains. SATURDAY, 19 DECEMBER: Kloof Gorge day hike upstream to two waterfalls with the Mountain Backpackers Club. Hikers will leave at 8.30am from the picnic site carpark. There is a small entrance fee.
