Hikers traverse castle, conservancy
On Sunday, 23 August take a hike to Stonehaven Castle, Shongweni.

Hikers are to note the earlier meeting time. Meet at the Assagay Hotel at 1.30pm to drive through to Summerveld at 1.45pm. Hikers will walk through the Summerveld Conservancy Area. This hike is graded two, moderate.
On Sunday, 23 August, hikers take a hike to Stonehaven Castle, Shongweni.
Call hike leader Jon Stevens on 082-459-1522. Meet at Union Main Centre, Old Main Road, Pinetown at 8am, or outside the Assagay Hotel at
8.15am and drive in convoy to the castle. There is a steep uphill from the railway line to Summerveld, returning on a circular path over grasslands and through bush. Do not attempt this hike if you suffer from vertigo. Petrol sharing costs R20.
This 15km hike is graded three, moderate.
