WEDNESDAY, 20 MAY: Birdlife Port Natal outing to Iphithi Nature Reserve, Everton at 8am. Take picnic baskets and chairs. Call Sandi on 031-701-4839.

THURSDAY, 21 MAY: Women’s Friendship Guild meeting is at 9.30am at the Assegai Hall, corner of Brighton and Assembly roads. The demonstration is on flower arranging from your garden by well-known demonstrator Pam Harvey. Anyone is welcome to enjoy a cup of tea, friendship and a good demonstration. Visitors pay R5. SUNDAY, 24 MAY: Birdlife Port Natal outing to Rocky Wonder Aloe Nursery towards Pietermaritzburg at 7.30am. Take picnic baskets and chairs. call Cheryl on 083-407-9785.

SATURDAY, 30 MAY: Dutch Reformed Church Fynnland hosts its first fete for 2015 from 7am until 1pm in the church hall at 303 Lighthouse Road, Bluff. Breakfast starts at 7am. The usual pancakes, puddings, vetkoek, home baked cakes/bread and much more will be on sale. There will be fleamarket tables with lovely crafts for sale.

SATURDAY, 13 JUNE: Anyone who has collections of stamps that they would like to sell, can visit the Philatelic Society of KZN at the Classic Motorcycle Club, 137 Tara Road from 8.30am to 1pm. For more information, call Ted Brown on 083-284-6554.

SATURDAY, 4 JULY: Arcadia annual fete at the home in Peacehaven Place, opposite Marlborough Park School. Lots of lovely homemade ‘goodies’ including pancakes and vetkoek and other delicious treats. To book a table call Y Munro on 079-573-6268 and go and support the ‘golden oldies’.
