Tough hikes worth the view this weekend

On Sunday, 19 April hikers will hike over rolling hills

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club members will take a hike to Kloof Gorge on Saturday, 18 April.

Hikers are to meet at the main entrance of the Kloof Gorge at 1.45pm. They will hike to the bottom of the Kloof Gorge, where the paths are fairly steep, and hike back to the top of the gorge. This poses a tricky descent and a steep climb back up.

Entrance costs R20. This hike is graded four, very strenuous and there is a vertigo warning.

 

On Sunday, 19 April hikers will hike over rolling hills, through cane and across grasslands in the upper Sterkspruit Valley from Assagay Coffee Farm, Harrison Flats.

Call hike leader Jenny on 084-952-0622. Hikers are to meet at Union Main Centre, Old Main Road, Pinetown in time for a prompt 8am departure, to drive in convoy to the parking place. Suggested petrol sharing is R25 per person. This 15km hike is graded three.
