5ths overcome 4th cricket team in friendly match

Harlequins fourth and fifth cricket side played against each other in a friendly at Quins 1.

ON Sunday, Harlequins fourth and fifth cricket side played against each other in a friendly at Quins 1.

With a friendly vibe in the air the two sides started a friendly 25 over match.

Quins fifth side batted first and scored a good 160 for four after 25 overs. Casper Groenewaldt top scored with 50 not out and retired to allow the other players to bat.

Clinton Abrahams made a quick-fire 33 off less than 20 balls.

Quins fourth side started in good style and the runs started to add up. However the fifth side’s bowlers did a good job and kept taking wickets. Clinton Abrahams, Raven Price, Ernest Kettle, Don Steele each took two wickets.

Theo van Heerden bowled four overs into the wind and took three for 22.

Quins fourth side was allowed to bat with 12 players and only managed 114 before being bowled out. All the players had fun and the friendships between the two teams was seen at the post-match braai.
