Colin Nicholas and Johan Nel score the double

Members are reminded of the ever-popular upcoming pub quiz, which takes place on Friday, 27 February at Vic's bar from 7pm.

LYN Wild’s open pairs was staged last Wednesday at Wanderers Bowling Club.

Honey Kitchenbrand and Linda Hewer shared the 60/40 board spoils and Robbie Carr won the meat raffle.

There was nobody with the correct number combination 6-9-10 to take the lotto, which is thus a carry over.

First session went to Gwen Tait and Jo-Anne Jordaan with a 2+9, and on 2+18 Gloria Rice and Linda Hewer took the second session. Colin Nicholas and Johan Nel were the overall winners with 4+34. They also won the Roadrunner’s pairs last week, so the guys are on something of a roll.

Heartiest congratulations must be extended to the Funnell brothers – Roy, Mike and Graham – who made it all the way through to the final day of the PNB trips where they ended up in third spot overall. A fine achievement.

All club comps were postponed owing to the playing of the district trips.

Last Friday Karl Van Rooyen won the R1,300 snowball. The various meat hamper winners were: Leg of lamb and mint jelly Mike Freeman, chicken thighs and burger patties Dianne Swan, chicken pack Clive Symons, pork roast Merlene Nair, sirloin steak Charles Bauristhene, chicken Rob Philogene.

Members are reminded of the ever-popular upcoming pub quiz, which takes place on Friday, 27 February at Vic’s bar from 7pm after the snowball and meat draw. Seating is on a first come, first served basis and teams are limited to a maximum of four players each. The first three teams and the last team will receive a prize. Hamburgers and frank rolls will be on sale. Entry is free and compere is Eric ‘Reds’ Redman.

There will be 60 questions from 10 different categories. Each question will have four possible answers to choose from. If any team of four gets 58 or more questions correct, they will receive free membership for 2015/16. Music by ‘Reds’ will follow after the prize giving. Get your seats early to avoid disappointment.
